Your privacy is important to us. This page outlines the information we collect when you opt-in to receive push notifications.

Information We Collect

When you enable notifications in our Android app, we collect a minimal amount of technical information necessary to deliver push notifications to your device. Specifically, we store the following in our database:

• FCM Token: A unique, anonymous identifier generated by Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) that allows us to send notifications to your specific browser.
• IP Address: Your public IP address at the time of subscription.
• Device & Browser Details: General information about your device type (e.g., Mac, Windows, Android), the User-Agent string from your browser, your preferred language, and your local timezone.
• Timestamp: The exact date and time you opted in to receive alerts.

How We Use This Information & Third-Party Services

The data collected is used exclusively for the functional operation of the deal alert system. It allows us to deliver real-time push notifications about deals and maintain our subscriber list. We do not sell, rent, or share this data with third-party advertisers.

We use Google Firebase (Firebase Cloud Messaging and Firebase Realtime Database) to securely store your FCM token and deliver the notifications. By enabling notifications, you acknowledge that this data is processed through Google's infrastructure.

How to Opt-Out & Delete Your Data

You have full control over your notifications. If you no longer wish to receive deal alerts, you can just disable notifications at any time through your device's system settings. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, your FCM token becomes invalid and will be permanently deleted from our database during our routine automated cleanups.

Chrome Extension

Our Chrome extension is a separate, lightweight companion to this website and handles data very differently from the Android app described above.

• What it stores: The extension keeps a small list of item identifiers on your own device, using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local), purely to remember which deals you've already seen so it can badge the toolbar icon when something new appears.
• What it does not do: The extension does not collect your IP address, device information, browsing history, or any personally identifiable information. It does not use Firebase, does not send any data to our servers or any third party, and does not track you across other websites - it only runs on madkindofdeals.com.
• Permissions: It requests only storage (to remember which items you've seen, as above) and access to madkindofdeals.com itself (to display the site in its popup and detect new listings).

Uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser's extension data removes this stored list immediately - there is nothing on our end to delete, since nothing ever leaves your device.
